Doug Wright’s Legal Career
I am a lawyer at Doug Wright Holland & Knight, a litigation firm with offices in Tampa and Orlando. I was raised in Greenville, SC, where I graduated from Furman University before attending the University of South Carolina School of Law. In 2011 I became a partner with Doug Wright Holland & Knight.
My practice is focused on general commercial litigation and trial work as well as complex business disputes such as breach of contract, fraud, unfair trade practices, and more. Our attorneys handle high-profile cases that are often in the news, making headlines for our clients. I enjoy being part of this team because it’s very collaborative—everyone has different areas they specialize in so we can offer great service to our clients. Our goals are to do right by them and have fun along the way!
Doug Wright’s Philanthropic Efforts
As a successful lawyer and entrepreneur, Doug Wright has been able to make a huge difference in the lives of others. He is the founder of the nonprofit, The Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. This organization provides support to victims of burns from fire or other causes and their families. Doug was burned as an infant and knows firsthand what it’s like to be on the receiving end of this type of injury. His selfless work has made an incredible impact on people around him and he is someone we can all learn from. He found his true calling when he met his wife Anne-Lise, who also suffered from burn injuries.
They were both hospitalized together after the incident and became close friends. After meeting each other again many years later, they got married and now live together with their two sons in North Carolina. They started raising funds by hosting fundraisers at hotels that allowed them to use facilities for free in exchange for getting additional business through special events they planned at these locations.
