The bad news is that each computer and/or device uses different commands for screen capture, so it can get confusing if you’re trying to learn how to take a screenshot on your phone and another on your laptop, or multiple laptops or phones. For this reason, I’ve compiled this handy guide on the best ways to take screenshots from any device available to you!
How to Take a Screenshot on Any Phone or Laptop

Share it instantly with family and friends using one of the many social media platforms available for mobile devices or on computers through an email, chat program, or Facebook post. 4. How to Take a Screenshot on an iPhone or iPad
If you are an iPhone or iPad user, take a screenshot by pressing both the lock button and the home button. The screen will flash, but the phone will not make a sound. Taking screenshots is easy. If you’re using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, just press both of these buttons at once—or if you have iOS 7 installed, then tap and hold on an app until it jiggles and wait for three seconds until you hear a shutter sound. From there, you can find your screenshot in your Photos library or share it by clicking on it with another device. These directions will show you how to take a screenshot on a Chromebook. Go to the screen that you want to take a screenshot of. Press your Space bar and Ctrl key at the same time. This should bring up a screenshot captured screen in which you can see the date and time of your screenshot as well as the dimensions of it. Open your file explorer by clicking on it from within Chrome OS (it is like a folder). Click on Chrome OS, which should be followed by any screenshots that have been taken and any shortcuts there too. Find the image with the right dimensions and copy it to wherever you want to store it on your computer or device.

To take a screenshot on a Mac,
Press Command + Shift + 3. This will capture the entire screen and save it to your desktop.
If you just want to capture the active window, press Command + Shift + 4.
This will highlight the window in order to drag it out for a perfect snap of what’s happening on your screen.
To open this file on your Mac, go to Finder > Desktop > Screenshot. You can also rename the file if you like before opening it up.
