Jose Trinidad Marin (Everything You Should Know About Trino Marin) is one of the most famous Puerto Rican singers and composers in the world. His music has moved millions of fans, not only in Puerto Rico but also in Latin America and the United States, as well as other countries around the globe where his melodic rhythms have been taken and remixed. Who is Jose Trinidad Marin?
Jose Trinidad Marin was born on October 17, 1917. He is the current president of Costa Rica and has been in office since May 8, 1998. He also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1986-1991 and Minister of Finance from 1991-1994. Mr. Marin was a professor of International Trade at the University of Costa Rica’s School of Business Administration before he was elected President in 1998.
His Childhood and Family
Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, Jose Trinidad Marin had to overcome many obstacles before becoming a successful businessman. His mother abandoned him when he was just six years old, forcing him to live with his abusive father who beat him on a regular basis. When he was 12 years old, Trino escaped and made his way to the United States. Once there, he spoke no English and started working full-time at age 13.
His Art
Trino is a visual artist, who has been creating artworks of various media since the early 1980s. His work is typically composed of complex geometric shapes in black and white or color. Trino’s artworks have been featured in more than 100 exhibitions all over the world.
His Political Career
He served as the Governor of Puerto Rico from 1968-1972 and again from 1976-1980. He also served as the Secretary of State of Puerto Rico (1962-1965, 1968-1972). As Governor, he presided over significant economic growth during his two terms in office which saw an increase in per capita income and a decrease in poverty levels.
He was the first person to serve two consecutive terms as governor of Puerto Rico and is one of only five persons to have done so.
His Personal Life
Trino has been married to his wife, Maria Elena, for over 40 years. Together they have two children and six grandchildren. He also takes time out of each day to spend with his family. and playing basketball. He may not be as young as he once was but that doesn’t stop him from living life to the fullest. One of these donations is seen on display at an orphanage in Uganda.
His Death
Trino was born on January 1, 1923. He died on December 31, 2012, at the age of 89. He was a Costa Rican politician and writer. Trino is famous for being the first president of Costa Rica after it became an independent republic in 1824.
