What to Know About Paramount Plus Before It Launches
Paramount Plus was officially announced on March 5th, 2018, and it will launch sometime this year (we’re not sure exactly when yet). Here’s everything we know about the service so far! We’ll keep updating this list as more news comes in, so you can be sure to stay up to date with all the Paramount Plus news. And if you have any questions or suggestions that we missed, please leave them in the comments section!
Apps
You will be able to watch Paramount shows on your mobile device, tablet, and computer. You can also watch the latest movies (like Lion) from Paramount. If you sign up for a free trial, you’ll get access to over 6,000 hours of content for $1! Signing up for a free trial is easy and there’s no commitment. The only downside is that it’s not available outside of the United States.
That said, there are several drawbacks. The first is that you need a cable subscription through your TV provider. While some providers offer low-cost trials, not all of them are supported by Paramount. If you’re an AT&T U-verse subscriber, for example, you won’t be able to access any of these apps without switching providers.
If you sign up for a free trial and decide it’s not worth it, later on, there’s no option for canceling your subscription early but who would cancel after being able to stream so many movies and TV shows from their phone? And if you do have cable or satellite service already and don’t want to change providers just for one app then keep reading!
Devices
Paramount Plus will be available on iOS and Android devices with a free 7-day trial. Once you have the app, it is not necessary to sign up for an account in order for the app to work. You can also download episodes of your favorite Paramount shows without a subscription through the non-subscription section of the app.
The app also includes a paid subscription service for Paramount Network and its siblings Epix, Epix2, and Epix Drive-In. This service will give users unlimited access to movies, short films, documentaries, and exclusives in addition to their favorite shows. In order to get access through paid subscriptions, you will need to create an account within the app that requires you to type in your phone number or email address before signing up. You can use your Apple ID if you choose not to sign up with a phone number or email address.
Free Trial of Paramount Plus
Paramount Plus is a new service that lets you stream all of their shows and movies, while also being able to watch live TV. You can try it out for free for seven days before deciding whether or not you want to continue with the monthly subscription. You can also cancel at any time before your trial ends without penalties. This new service will be launching soon and we already have some insider knowledge about what it’s going to offer! Here are some of the details on this exciting upcoming launch.
Shows
Paramount Plus is a new streaming service that will offer more than just the latest films. Shows are also being offered on the service, including classics like Friends. The service launches on October 15th, but it is currently available for free as a trial. If you sign up now, you can watch all of the movies and shows until then without paying anything. The app has been made for both iOS and Android devices.
There are a few shows that you won’t be able to watch on your phone, but most of them can be seen on either iOS or Android devices. Check out which shows aren’t currently available here. You can download videos onto your device for offline viewing as well, so if you’re planning on traveling soon, that’s a great reason to try it out. The app itself is simple and easy to use, with high-quality video. Read more about what it’s like in our hands-on review.
Launch time: The service launches at 8 am PT / 11 am ET today (October 15th) so make sure you don’t miss out! Click here to sign up for your free trial.
Everything Else We Know So Far
Paramount has been making a lot of noise about its upcoming streaming service, which is set to launch in 2020. In July 2019, the company announced that it had acquired the rights for all of its content for this new service, including hits like The Godfather and Friday Night Lights.
However, before you sign up for your free trial or plunk down your money for a monthly subscription, there are some things you should know before making a decision. For starters, Paramount Plus will only be available on smart TVs and mobile devices. If you want an app on your phone or tablet to watch movies like Indiana Jones or Mission Impossible, then you’ll need to subscribe separately through Hulu.
